We know that hiring the right company to tend to your tree needs can be a bit stressful. We've all heard the stories about how unassuming homeowners are taken advantage of with no recourse. We want you to make sure that doesn't happen to you. Below you can find some common faq's that will help guide you in doing your research to finding the tree service business that is the best fit for you. Fill out the form on the page or give us a call for a free quote! 239-309-7010

1.   What do you need to think about when hiring a tree service company?
While most people may be more concerned about prices, choosing a company with no insurance could cost you much more in the long run. If they damage your property in any way, you likely will be paying for the damage out of pocket. Also, you need to check with your  insurance company because they may require a licensed company to perform the Fort Myers tree removal or trimming, etc if they are covering the expense. It’s simply not worth it. You need to verify that the company is fully certified, licensed, and insured to safely complete the tree removal job for you.

2.   Why hire a professional tree removal company?
Tree removal is a very technical and hazardous job. It requires attention to detail, precision, and an extensive amount of manpower, proper equipment, training, and expertise. All of these are serious factors that homeowners or property managers overlook when considering the overall expense of tree removal.  Simple oversights can lead to serious damage to your property and the surrounding landscape, not to mention potential injury to people at the job site.

3.   Insurance, Insurance, Insurance
Verify and confirm that the company has personal and property damage liability insurance and workers compensation insurance by getting proof with certificates of insurance with you, the client, listed as the certificate holder.  You also need to verify proof of Workers Compensation Insurance.  You will need to make sure that all of the workers on the job site are covered and using proper protective equipment. Verify requirements with your personal insurance provider.

4.   Get detailed quotes in writing
When you are comparing and contrasting different estimates and quotes, it is always easier to do if you have everything in writing. You can get a better sense of how much you are paying and for what. This will help you avoid surprise charges when the job is complete. You can even ask for a written scope of work before any tree trimming in Fort Myers Florida is preformed.

5.   Where to research?
Before you hire a tree service company, check out their BBB Business Profile at BBB.org. It is fast, easy, free and can help you narrow your decision. Check online sources to see if they are members of professional organizations, such as The International Society of Arboriculture or, American Society of Consulting Arborists. Better Business Bureau Accredited Tree Service Companies meet BBB Accreditation standards, which include a commitment to build trust, advertise honestly, tell the truth, be transparent, honor promises, be responsive to the customers, safeguard privacy, and embody integrity. Make sure to get at least three quotes in writing, compare the quotes based on the same specifications and make sure they have the proper equipment to perform the job quoted.  Do not assume that tree stump removal is included if it is not specified.  Keep in mind that quality of work may be more important than the overall price.

6.   wHAT ARE SOME RED FLAGS TO LOOK OUT FOR?
  • Offers a discount to act now
  • Have no printed materials, letterhead, or bid forms
  • Is doing door-to-door solicitations
  • Is vague about formal credentials as an arborist
  • Offers an unusually low price
  • Pressure you for an immediate decision
  • Only accepts cash payments for tree service

Check Out A Review!

My husband and I wanted the back half of our property cleared to put a work building on. We needed a garage large enough to fit several vehicles and a separate driveway running along the side of our home to access our garage. With our land we had so much thickness it was crazy! We called around and got a few quotes and the prices were astronomically different, which surprised us. This lot clearing company had a reasonable price and made us feel comfortable with the work we wanted done. In the end everything turned out great and they referred us to another business to get sand fill to build up the foundation. Thank you so much!
